Position: Data Engineer, AI Engineer (Perception & Motion Planning Control) - Internship
We are currently seeking motivated and talented individuals to join our team as Data Engineers and AI Engineers, specifically focusing on Perception and Motion Planning Control, for an internship position. As an intern at Alpha Asimov, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the robotics industry.
Scope of Work:
- Develop functions to clean, analyze, and preprocess data for training AI models. This will involve working with diverse datasets, including images, location data, mapping information, and other relevant data sources. Your role will be crucial in ensuring high-quality training data for our AI models.
- Test and evaluate several open-source models for motion planning control. You will work closely with the team to assess the performance and suitability of different models in the context of motion planning and control for our delivery robots. This will involve implementing and benchmarking various algorithms to optimize the robots‘ movements.
- Develop functions and use the company’s Simulation platform to generate synthetic data for training purposes. This synthetic data will be used to augment our training datasets, improving the robustness and generalization capabilities of our AI models.
- Support the team in computer vision tasks, such as camera calibration, to enhance perception capabilities. Additionally, you will assist in model deployment tasks on edge devices, specifically NVIDIA and Qualcomm devices. This involvement will provide you with hands-on experience in working with cutting-edge technologies.
- Support the team in deploying AI modules to edge devices in the ROS stack.

Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or C/C++.
- Familiarity with data cleaning, analyzing, and preprocessing (Computer Vision/ Image Processing) techniques.
- Basic understanding of machine learning and Deep Learning concepts.
- Experience or completing Computer Vision, Motion Planning, or Robotics coursework is a plus.
- Proficiency in working with NVIDIA devices is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Duration: The internship duration is flexible and can be discussed based on mutual agreement.
