Job Overview
VinFast is seeking Commonality Engineers to support cross-platform part standardization across vehicle programs. This role focuses on analyzing Bills of Materials (BOMs), identifying opportunities to increase part sharing, and working with engineering and purchasing teams to optimize cost, complexity, and development efficiency.
This position is suitable for final-year students and fresh graduates who are passionate about automotive engineering, product structure, and data-driven technical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze vehicle BOM structures to identify common parts across different vehicle platforms
- Support part standardization and modularization initiatives
- Collaborate with Engineering, Program Management, and Purchasing teams to evaluate technical and commercial feasibility
- Track and report commonality KPIs (cost saving, part count reduction, platform efficiency)
- Assist in preparing technical documentation, comparison reports, and presentations
- Maintain and update related engineering databases and part lists
Requirements
- Final-year student or fresh graduate (0–3 years of experience) in: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good English communication for daily technical work
- Proficiency in Excel; ability to work with structured data
- Basic understanding of product structure, components, or design processes is a plus
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work in cross-functional teams
