DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITY:

Job Overview:

A junior-level IT Support professional provides technical assistance to end-users, focusing on troubleshooting, system maintenance, and basic network administration. They are expected to have some prior experience or foundational knowledge in IT support processes and tools, with room for learning and growth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Support:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Provide support for enterprise applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, email clients).
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of workstations, peripherals, and mobile devices.

2. User Account and System Administration:

  • Manage user accounts in systems like Active Directory, Azure AD, or similar.
  • Assign, modify, and troubleshoot user permissions and access rights.
  • Reset passwords and handle login-related issues.

3. Network Support:

  • Diagnose and resolve basic LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity issues.
  • Assist in setting up network devices (e.g., routers, switches, access points).

4. System Maintenance:

  • Perform scheduled updates, patches, and backups.
  • Monitor system performance and report anomalies.
  • Ensure antivirus software is installed, updated, and functional.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Document all support activities and solutions in the helpdesk system.
  • Update the knowledge base with common issues and resolutions.
  • Generate periodic reports on IT support activities.

6. Collaboration and Escalation:

  • Work closely with senior IT staff to resolve complex issues.
  • Escalate unresolved technical problems to the appropriate team.

 

REQUIREMENT:

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage).
  • Experience with ticketing/helpdesk systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, ManageEngine).
  • Basic knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+.
  • ITIL Foundation (for understanding IT service management processes).
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Fundamentals).

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar IT support role.
  • Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and user support.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Equivalent technical certifications and relevant experience.

Work Environment:

  • Office-based or hybrid setup with occasional remote support.

Other:

  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn – Quickly acquiring new technologies, processes, and continuously improving skills.
  • Multilingual proficiency (if applicable) – Proficiency in English or other languages to communicate with international clients.
  • Possesses a strong sense of teamwork, demonstrates collegiality, provides support to other team members, and is actively engaged in sports, particularly football (soccer)
