1. Job Descriptione
The Research Assistant will support a two-component study on ageing, long-term care (LTC) and labour market shocks in Vietnam, using the Vietnam NaQonal Aging Survey (VNAS) 2019 and 2022. Specific tasks include
Literature review. Search, screen and synthesize academic literature on long-term care
preferences, family and intergeneraQonal support, labor market shocks and mental health in
ageing populaQons; maintain a shared reference library (Mendeley/Zotero/EndNote); prepare
structured evidence-summary tables and short annotated bibliographies.
Data cleaning and management. Assist in cleaning and harmonising the VNAS 2019 and
2022 waves in Stata (or R): variable construcQon and recoding, value and variable labelling,
consistency and missing-value checks, and merging across survey modules.
Key-finding preparaQon and research support. Help prepare slides for internal seminars,
assist with reference checking and manuscript formaing, take part in team meeQngs.
Note: the research team members will support RA in data cleaning and management processes.
2. Requirement
- Currently an enrolled undergraduate student of VinUniversity, preferably in statistics or data science, public health, epidemiology, medicine, economics, or a related field.
- Genuine interest in academic research and in building a research profile (e.g., graduate study or a research career).
- Working knowledge of Stata (or R) for data cleaning and descripQve analysis.
- Basic understanding of quanQtaQve and biostaQsQcal concepts (descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation).
- Ability to read academic articles in English and summarise them accurately in English.
- Attention to detail, reliability with deadlines, willingness to document work carefully, and proactive communication.

Good academic standing and the ability to commit approximately 20 hours per month for 02 months.
