Business Development Associate – Cross-Border Payments

Role Purpose
This role is responsible for driving tour guide and travel partner acquisition in local Vietnam, contributing to expanding international partnerships, and acting as a market voice to help Zalopay continuously improve its cross-border payment experience. The role sits at the intersection of sales execution, partnership development, and product feedback, with clear KPIs tied to partner acquisition and user adoption.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Development (50%)
- Acquire and manage partnerships with tour guides, tour agencies, travel operators, to promote and scale Zalopay Cross-Border solutions.
- Acquire & manage lifecycle of partners: prospecting, pitching, onboarding, activation, and performance tracking.
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned partners, ensuring long-term engagement and mutual growth
- Contribute directly to monthly partner acquisition targets and user adoption of KPIs.
2. Product & Marketing Collaboration (30%)
- Work closely with Product and Marketing teams to translate partner and customer feedback into actionable insights.
- Identify friction points in the cross-border payment journey (onboarding, usage, acceptance, UX).
- Support go-to-market initiatives, campaigns, and product launches by validating concepts with real partners and users.
- Help ensure product features and marketing messages align with market demand and partner needs.
3. Market Research & Insights (10%)
- Conduct ongoing market research on travel trends, cross-border payment behaviors, competitor offerings, and the regulatory environment.
- Monitor partner performance, user adoption patterns, and campaign effectiveness.
- Provide structured insights and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
4. Other Tasks (10%)
- Support strategic initiatives and projects assigned by management.
Job Requirements
- Outstanding communication skill in both Vietnamese & English, Chinese is a plus
- 2-5 years of experience in sales, business development, key account management, stakeholder management with a background or working experience in travel/tourism industry
- Great data analysis & presentation skill
- Flexible & growth mindset
